Back when she was at Villanova University, Danielle Davies performed opposite Bradley Cooper in a play. “Since then,” she explained in a Today interview, “he’s become startlingly famous, and I … not so much.” But her ridiculous Instagram account may close that gap somewhat.
“My Life With Bradley Cooper”—a concept which also boasts a homepage and Twitter feed, and may soon be a book—involves Davies inserting a cardboard cutout of Cooper, stylishly dressed for an award show gala, into scenes from her comparatively domestic life. As you might guess, he’s very helpful with humdrum chores, and never afraid to muss his tux.
Davies’ family seems willing to put up with the joke—for now. She describes her “patient” husband Ed as a “relatively uninterested participant in these photos,” while her young daughter is “in for the long haul” but “keeps referring to Bradley Cooper as Mark Wahlberg.” Davies’ son, meanwhile, is already sick of hearing about the Academy Award nominee.
“The fact is, while most of us don’t actually live our lives with movie stars, many of us wish we did,” Davies writes on her site by way of explanation. “And so, being a forward-thinking American, I have taken the bull by the horns, the horse by the reigns, the cardboard cutout of Bradley Cooper by the shoulders, and just pretended that I do.” Works for us!
It’s a matter of when, not if, the real, three-dimensional Cooper eventually hears about his role in this project. We hope, for the Internet’s sake, that his response doesn’t come in the form of a cease-and-desist or restraining order. Because who would we fantasize about then?
