In the wake of the mass shooting at Pulse nightclub in Orlando, many have been looking for ways to help. Equality Florida, an organization advocating for LGBT rights in the state, showed its support by setting up a GoFundMe campaign to raise money for the families of the victims. As of this morning, it became the fastest GoFundMe to reach $1 million.

And now it also appears to be the most successful GoFundMe campaign ever. As of publication, the campaign has raised more than $2 million for the victims’ families, just over what was previously listed as GoFundMe’s most funded campaign

Equality Florida writes on the page, “Every penny raised will be distributed directly to the victims and their families. We are working with a team of attorneys and experts, including the National Center for Victims of Crime, which deployed funds in both Chattanooga and Aurora, to ensure funds are distributed correctly.”

The Daily Dot has reached out to Equality Florida about the specifics of the campaign, but has not heard back as of press time. GoFundMe also donated $100,000 to the Equality Florida page, saying “our thoughts are with the victims and all those affected by this terrible attack.”

There are other campaigns to help individual victims and survivors of the shooting, too—such as one for Angel Santiago Jr., who was hospitalized with multiple gunshot wounds.
