Hillary Clinton’s health and stamina has been a recurring vocal point for Donald Trump, but his line of attack took an unexpected turn at a campaign rally in Portsmouth, New Hampshire on Saturday.
Trump followed up an unhinged speech Friday night, in which he lashed out at his sexual assault accusers, by suggesting that his Democratic rival should be drug-tested before their final debate on Wednesday.
“I think she’s actually getting pumped up, she’s getting pumped up, you understand; she’s getting pumped up for Wednesday night,” Trump said. He continued:
“Athletes they make them take a drug test. I think we should take a drug test prior to the debate. I do. I think … Why don’t we do that? We should take a drug test prior because I don’t know what’s going on with her, but at the beginning of her last debate she was all pumped up at the beginning and at the end it was like, ‘Oh, take me down.’ She could barely reach her car.”
Trump followed up his comments on Twitter:
Hillary Clinton should have been prosecuted and should be in jail. Instead she is running for president in what looks like a rigged election

Clinton, meanwhile, is keeping a low profile leading up to the last debate, attempting “to avoid making any unforced errors,” as the New York Times put it.
The third and final presidential debate before Election Day takes place Wednesday, Oct. 19.
