Lisa Bloom, a celebrity lawyer, tried to arrange payment for two women who considered coming forward with sexual misconduct allegations against President Donald Trump, according to a new report.
The Hill reports that Bloom tried to get cash for two clients who considered going public with allegations against Trump to help them with relocation or arrange security if they felt unsafe in the final days of the 2016 election.
The report suggests that Bloom–who represented Harvey Weinstein earlier this year—also tried to get commission for herself, arranged for a donor to pay off one woman’s mortgage, and tried to get a payment for one woman who ultimately did not come forward.
“Donors reached out to my firm directly to help some of the women I represented,” she told the Hill.
One of the women Bloom attempted to secure money for was Jill Harth, who filed a lawsuit against Trump in 1997. The other woman never came forward publicly.
The Hill’s report was quickly pounced on by right-wing supporters of the president.
Pure sleaze. @LisaBloom is an embarrassment to the legal profession.

Outrageous: leftist lawyer Lisa Bloom arranged for donors to pay Trump accusers. Such dirty tactics, thankfully ineffective! https://t.co/2L4awQ9gsz

Donald Trump Jr., the president’s son, appeared to agree with Barron. He liked Barron’s tweet.
At least 16 women have come forward and accused Trump of a variety of sexual misconduct. Earlier this week, three women publicly said they wanted Congress to investigate their stories.
Women began to publicly tell their stories about Trump in late 2016 after he was caught on a hot-mic bragging about how he could get away with sexually assaulting women, adding that he was able to “grab them by the pussy” because of his fame.
Trump has denied the claims.
