On Thursday, Judge Roy Moore issued a challenge to Jimmy Kimmel.

It all started on Wednesday night, when one of Kimmel’s writers, Tony Barbieri, appeared at a Moore rally in Theodore, Alabama, as his longtime character Jake Byrd, who’s known for infiltrating crowds. He mingled with the crowd outside, posing as a Moore supporter, and upended Moore’s speech inside the Magnolia Springs Baptist Church, while wearing a “Gimme Moore” shirt, before getting kicked out. Kimmel’s film crew caught it all.

On Thursday, Moore tweeted at Kimmel, urging him to come to Alabama himself if he wants to “mock our Christian values.” And Kimmel gave him some more.

Sick burn, to be sure. Of course people pointed out the ridiculousness of a man who claims to be a Christian (and has also been accused of assaulting and preying on underage girls) challenging Kimmel to a fight.

Even more Christian-like, during his speech on Wednesday, Moore placed the blame for the accusations against him on liberals: “They don’t hold conservative values. They’re the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender who want to change our culture. They are socialists who want to change our way of life and put man above God and the government is our God.”
