Actor Jim Carrey shared a painting he created that appears to mock White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders on Saturday, and Twitter found it in poor taste.
“This is the portrait of a so-called Christian whose only purpose in life is to lie for the wicked,” Carrey wrote. “Monstrous!”

Carrey primarily uses his Twitter account to share his latest artwork. Just last week, Carrey shared his painting of Stephen Hawking and other more abstract work.
Folks on Twitter—many of whom seemed to be supporters of the White House administration—expressed distaste for the painting and said it was a form of bullying Sanders.

I use to love your work, so gifted, but now I would rather not see or hear it.

I will always stand by freedom of expression but can we act our age & not call out people for their looks? It’s incredibly superficial, shows weakness (logical fallacy) in your claim, and is exactly what we are trying to get our kids to stop doing in school.

Nice to see you empowering #women Jim. Any #metoo movement moments in your future?

A spokeswoman for Carrey confirmed it is his painting, according to the Associated Press, but did not confirm it is a depiction of Sanders.
The White House and Sanders have not yet commented about the painting.
