Greenland pushed back on reports that President Donald Trump floated the possibility of the United States purchasing the autonomous territory from Denmark.

The Wall Street Journal reported Thursday that the president has brought up the idea of buying Greenland on several occasions.

However, the Associated Press cited sources who said while Trump has discussed it, he wasn’t serious about it—while others said he has brought up the idea enough “to make them wonder,” but still didn’t take him seriously.

Trump, according to the Journal, has “listened with interest” when Greenland’s natural resources and geopolitical strategic location have been discussed.

While Trump may have had dreams of acquiring Greenland (serious or otherwise), the country has made it abundantly clear they have no interest in such an idea.

“We are open for business, but we’re not for sale,” the Foreign Minister of Greenland Ane Lone Bagger told Reuters.

Greenland’s foreign minister wasn’t the only one who found Trump’s idea absurd.

A number of Twitter users openly mocked it, including using popular recent political memes like Trump yelling at a kid mowing the White House lawn and so-called “Green Shirt Guy.”
