The internet already creates a digital footprint larger than most folks are comfortable with, but now there is a way to keep track of every single action you perform.

Outcognito Mode (billed as the Incognito mode for extroverts) is an extension for Google Chrome that publicly tweets every website you visit and every word you type to @outcognitomode.

That might not sound like a great idea to you—that’s because it isn’t.

Pay for your credit card bill and up pops a tweet saying which banking website you use. You may as well kiss your money goodbye the second you fill out your login credentials.

Why would someone create such a seemingly useless app? The creators of Outcognito Mode say “it was thrown together on a last-minute whim at the end of the 2017 Stupid Hackathon.” The Stupid Hackathon was created for developers to create, “Stupid shit no one needs and terrible ideas.”

Outcognitomode surely fits the bill.

If you need to cover your online tracks for any reason, the extension can be downloaded for free. But unless you have the memory of Leonard from Memento, you should probably avoid doing so, and just keep track of its Twitter page.
