Beyoncé just endorsed Beto O’Rourke, the Democrat and Texas state representative challenging Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) in the midterm elections. But is it too late?
A Houston native with 119 million Instagram followers, Beyoncé dropped photos of herself in a “Beto for Senate” cap on Tuesday evening, just three hours ahead of Texas polls closing.

“I’m feeling grateful for everyone before me who fought so hard to give us all the right to have a voice,” she wrote in a caption. “We can’t voice our frustrations and complain about what’s wrong without voting and exercising our power to make it right. We need you. We all need each other, because when we are truly united we are unstoppable. Sending you all love and positivity on this happy voting day!”
But as some people pointed out on Twitter, the pro-O’Rourke posts came a little late in the election game.

Still super-curious how this went down and went down so late in the game? Was she hedging/poll-watching? Did FedEx bungle the delivery of her hat? Did the campaign ask her to hold off? pic.twitter.com/quLvuIyr24

If O’Rourke was bothered by the lateness of the endorsement, he didn’t say so. He did, however, thank the pop star in a tweet.
