Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales are great for saving big on Xboxes and crockpots. But not everyone wants to follow a day of gratitude with a weekend of consumerism, so some retailers have started using the post-Thanksgiving shopping blitz for more charitable opportunities. One retailer, Zappos, announced on Facebook that they will be sponsoring free pet adoptions between Friday and Monday.
Over the holiday weekend, Zappos will pay on behalf of customers who adopt a dog or cat from any Best Friends Animal Society location or from one of the 150 additional partnering shelters. The promotion, called Home for the Pawlidayz, will ensure that plenty of homeless animals will have loving families to take them in this holiday season.
In the first 24 hours after its release, the #Pawlidayz video announcement was shared over 10,000 times on Facebook, garnering 250,000 views. On Twitter, would-be pet parents and siblings expressed their enthusiasm by posting pet photos (of course).
