The marriage between YouTube stars Jake Paul and Tana Mongeau was fake all along. But Mongeaua said she suffered real moments of misery during their half-year of supposed romance.

The ruse between the two ended in January, and though the fake relationship was reportedly worth hundreds of millions of dollars in media exposure, that doesn’t mean Mongeau was always happy with the arrangement.

Speaking in front of MTV cameras for the new season of her reality show, Mongeau complained that she and Paul didn’t get enough time together because their daily schedules are so hectic.

Mongeau said, “Jake and I finally get the time to sit down and talk, and of course, the door is open, there’s a million people coming in and out of the room. There’s cameras everywhere. There’s people everywhere. The only thing we really get to talk about is business that day.”

She continued, “All I want is like 10 minutes of alone time, and I don’t even get that some days, so now we’re going to shoot this show. Best of luck. Fingers crossed.”

Later, Mongeau talked about how she should be stoked to have a TV show with the person she loves, but she said, “I’m just so miserable.” Instead of having defined lines in their relationship between the personal and romantic sides, it was just one big blob.

“It definitely puts a lot of strain on a relationship to have to make 1,000 business decisions together, every single day,” she said. “I know this is definitely not what normal, newly married couples are having to debate over 24/7.”

Of course, as we know now, the marriage was fake, and the relationship is over. Fortunately for Mongeau, the newlywed debates between her and Paul have ended for good.
