Mothers: They can be embarrassing; they can be pushy. But sometimes their annoying behaviors pay off.
During the Olympics last month, Sally Field’s son, Sam Greisman, tweeted a text exchange he had with his mom about his crush, figure skater Adam Rippon. Field replied to the tweet by tagging Rippon’s handle so he was sure to know how Greisman felt about him.

Though Greisman tweeted “yikes” over his mom’s attempts at matchmaking, it seems all that public crush-having has paid off. Last night at a gala in Los Angeles, Greisman met Rippon and tweeted a photo of them together with the caption, “Thanks, mom.”

We have no idea if this is the beginning of a real-life romance or just fan-fic inspo for internet fans who love a happy ending.

We’re waiting on Field (and her Twitter) to confirm.
