Ray Wilson, who put out an online call to help find his runaway daughter last week, has finally found his daughter.
According to his Twitter account, roughly four hours ago Wilson, of Amarillo, Texas, received a phone call from the Carlsbad, Police department in California. Law enforcement had pulled over Haley’s car, and Wilson even spoke to her over the phone.
He is currently in route to meet her.
Ray Wilson uploaded his video plea onto YouTube on December 29. It has been viewed 600,000 times. Communicating through flashcards, his story was shared in countless Facebook posts and blogs over the past week, and even received a CNN mention.
In an earlier interview with Amarillo’s KVII Pronews 7, Wilson said he was leaning on social media to find her, calling it his “best hope.”
It appears, however, that old school police work triumphed in the end.
Haley Wilson’s license plates were already in the system from the missing person report filed by the Amarillo, TX police department, said Carlsbad PD public information officer Sway in a phone call with the Daily Dot.
“The world is filled with good people and I am overwhelmed and amazed at the outpouring of love and support” Wilson wrote in an email to the Daily Dot.
“I am so thankful for each and every person who tweeted and posted trying to help. I couldn’t have done this without these amazing people.”
