This job listing for a personal assistant to an ‘influencer’ is unbelievable

The part-time job requires 24/7 availability for $25 an hour.

A job listing from a social media influencer looking to hire a person assistant has been absolutely skewered online after going viral.

Featured Video

The listing claims it’s for a “well known celebrity/influencer with 10+ million followers” and everything immediately goes downhill after that.

Though the stated search is on for a personal assistant, it’s obvious from the listing, which takes up two full-page screenshots, that the mystery influencer is actually looking for someone who can wear just about every hat in the closet.

Generally speaking, the “assistant” will not only have to handle personal tasks and a heavy load of business affairs, but they will also be expected to handle cooking and cleaning, as well as take on highly specialized roles such as social media manager and production coordinator.

The laundry list of potential tasks reads like several full time jobs, yet the listing claims it will start as a part time job and “transition to full time if properly qualified.” Yet it also notes the assistant will be expected to be on the “property” around 8 hours a day, have minimal days off, and “answer your phone/be on call almost 24/7.”

But wait! There’s more!

“You must be able to remain calm, rational, and hardworking at all times,” the job listing reads. “You must keep all emotion/private life matters completely away from this world…You must be able to be the bad guy, remove emotion, handle intense conversations, and bounce back instantly from any mistakes without emotion. You must remain sober yet social and inviting in very high profile environments.”

It’s hard to imagine anyone being able to stay sober in any environment with this demanding person.

One would hope that, at the very least, the salary would be a generous compensation on par with all the expectations set forth. Except, of course it’s not. Our “large celebrity” is offering up $25-$30 per hour to run literally their entire life. Not only is expecting someone to be on call for an hourly wage immensely disrespectful of their time, but offering an hourly wage that comes out to less than the median income for the Los Angeles area for basically being a human-esque robot is a joke.

While anyone who has ever sifted through job listings for assistants in the entertainment industry can tell you this certainly isn’t a unicorn of a post, it does inch ahead to be worse than most of them upfront. And it got rightly destroyed by people online in response.

The listing has since been deleted, but it will always live on in our nightmares.
