March 8 is International Women’s Day, which women around the world are observing by going on strike and honoring the women in history and their lives. But as the inevitable backlash starts popping up, J.K. Rowling had a swift retort.
Some, many of them men, have now asked, “Well, what about a International Men’s Day?” In a tweet celebrating International Women’s Day, Rowling simply pointed out—before her followers could ask—that a Men’s International Day already exists.
Happy #InternationalWomensDay

or, as it’s often called on here, #WhyIsn‘tThereAnInternationalMensDay
(There is: November 19th)
If Rowling is feeling particularly snarky later, she could point out another fitting rebuke some have already made in response to trolls.
Men, the other 364 days of the year are Men’s Day so don’t @ women on #IWD2017 with “what about men” or #NotAllMen.
