The fifth pillar of Islam, the Hajj is an Islamic religious pilgrimage to Mecca, Saudi Arabia that must be carried out at least once in a Muslim’s lifetime—health and money permitting.

In conjunction with the Saudi Ministry of Culture and Information, the live broadcast will allow Muslims who did not have the time or couldn’t afford to travel the opportunity to still participate, as well as casual users and culturally curious.

This isn’t the first time YouTube has live-streamed Muslim services. In August, the social video site ”worked with the Saudi Ministry of Culture and Information to broadcast Islamic prayers live during Ramadan from the Holy Mosque in Mecca for the first time,” according to YouTube blog post.
