Criminals be warned: Don’t post your exploits on YouTube.
A 50-year-old Japanese doctor learned this lesson the hard way on Friday—for a video he posted to the video-sharing site last May.
Titled “Ferrari 458 Italia Drive in Japan 2011″ (the original has been removed), features the unnamed doctor, clad in bright red gloves, racing along Japanese highways in his Ferrari for six minutes.
The UK’s Telegraph reported Japanese law enforcement received a tip last year and determined the doctor broke the law based off the time it took to pass objects in the video.
While the doctor was being arrested, Japanese newspaper Mainichi Daily News quoted him as saying “I wanted to make a Ferrari promotional video.”
Ferrari has remained silent over the Japanese doctor’s free promotional attempt, but regardless, many YouTubers were impressed.
“Damn haters” commented Skyoneder, echoing other YouTubers’ sentiments about whoever reported the video to the Japanese authorities.
