Playboy playmate Dani Mathers violated two sacred safe spaces on Wednesday: the gym locker room and Snapchat.
The 2015 Playmate of the Year posted a photograph of an unsuspecting woman in the nude, with the body-shaming caption, “If I can’t unsee this then you can’t either.”
Seriously? You love empowering women? Does this look like empowerment? GIRL. Just stop. pic.twitter.com/BglwhW7lIP

When fans called her out on Twitter and Facebook, Mathers posted the following apology:

Mathers referred to the snap as an “accident,” promising she has never and will never do anything like it again. “This is not who I am,” she said.
But many felt the apology was lacking—particularly her effort to defend the snap, saying it was meant to be a private message, which wouldn’t be any less of a violation of the woman’s privacy, nor would erase the sentiment in the caption.
Mathers tweeted a lengthy apology, before deleting her account on Thursday.
However, many were non-plussed by Mathers’s apology.
“I didn’t mean to offend anybody. I was just taking an unsuspecting woman’s nude photo to mock her body.”

Some are calling for L.A. Fitness, the gym where she took the photo, and Snapchat to step in and ban Mathers for violating the woman’s privacy.

.@LAFitness, I urge you to cancel Dani Mathers’ membership in light of her cruel and body-shaming behavior in your locker room.

And pro wrestler and host of Playboy TV’s Boarding Pass, Reby Hardy, tweeted the following helpful reminder:
We got @DaniMathers out here sneaking nude pics of women in a women’s locker room, but yall still afraid of trans friendly bathrooms. OKAY.

Update 10:05am CT, July 19: According to TMZ, Mathers has been suspended from her regular gig on the “Heidi and Frank” radio show on L.A.’s KLOS, and has been banned from L.A. Fitness. She “is not permitted back at any club, ever,” a rep for the gym told TMZ.
