Getting a numerology reading is an easy way to discover more about your life. Whether it’s the career you’re best suited for, potential relationship compatibility, life path, and even your lucky numbers, numerology has the scoop.

But if you’re new to numerology (try saying that five times fast, ha!) you’re probably wondering how it works. So before we tell you where you can go to get accurate (and sometimes free) numerology readings, here’s a crash course on everything you need to know.

What is a numerology reading?

Numerology is all about the month, day, and year you were born (among other factors.) Using your birthday, numerologists practice an ancient method of reading based on the influence of the “period cycles”.

In numerology, your period cycles represent the early, middle, and late stages of your life. Numerologists are able to walk you through the lifestyle you subconsciously live, guide you to your best career path, and even offer relationship advice.

They can also calculate your numerical summation, or your life path. Numerology readers can also interpret other influences described in the Decoz Color Chart (shown below).

How do numerology readings work?

In order to calculate your life path number, you need to know your birthday. Once you’ve got it, you have to reduce them all to single digits. There are some exceptions to that rule, though. Master Numbers, like 11, 22, and 33, are the exception.

These numbers stay as double-digits because they are extremely influential. Some people interpret Master Numbers as the places in life that you will have to work hard to master. Others, like Hans Decoz, see it as an indicator that you are “meant to do something special” in this life.

Once your digits have been reduced, it’s time to add them up. Then, you or a reader will reduce that total to a single digit. Let’s do one together.

If you were born on September 8, 1993, your life path calculation would break down to look something like this: (0+9)+(0+8)+(1+9+9+3)=(9)+(8)+(22)=(39)=(3+9)+12=(1+2)=3. Making you someone that follows Life Path 3.

Each life path has its own way of unfolding. So if you’d like a detailed description of yours, we know some readers who can help! If you just want a computer to calculate your number for free (so you don’t have to do the math), we’ve got you covered.

9 of the best premium and free numerology readings online

1. The best numerology reading for specific questions: Keen

Interested in a super specific service like numerology love readings? Keen numerologists are a great option. Although the site has low ratings on review sites like SiteJabber, you’ll notice most of the complaints aren’t about the readings themselves, but how the site runs its payment options.

To avoid conflict, reviewers recommend only loading the amount of money you plan to use for your reading. Because if you upload $40, spend $15 on a call, and then forget about the balance, Keen will deduct value for inactivity. While I don’t agree with these TOS, this problem is easily avoidable, so it shouldn’t dissuade you from booking.

I’ve used Keen in the past when my regular reader wasn’t available or if I was looking for a particular service. You can read about my experience here, or take the chance yourself. Keen is offering all new users three free minutes to use towards any reading!
