This week, the image-tweaking fanatics at Canvas featured a gaggle of Batman-inspired memes, animals doing funny things, and a new feature that will help answer the question on everyone’s mind: “Is this an original image or a repost?”

On Thursday, Canvas unveiled a way for users to easily search Google to see where an image came from. All you have to do is right-click on the image and select “search Google with this image.” If the Canvas image is indeed original, chances are Google won’t turn up anything. For example, when searching for an image of this bird (which the Canvas user claimed to have made using the remix editor), all Google found was images using a similar color scheme.

Social news site Reddit and image board 9gag have no such photo-search function built into their sites. A third-party website called Karmadecay, on the other hand, allows redditors to search the site for reposted images, but not the Internet as a whole.

At the end of the day, Canvas’s new feature is important so users can chose wisely when deciding to vote for a post they believe is original—on Canvas, a move known as stickering.
