Author R.L. Stine playfully introduced a generation to the horror genre with his Goosebumps series, churning out tales of the cryptic and creepy at a stunning pace.

Now the prolific writer appears to have found another way to frighten readers—on Twitter.

Last week on his verified account, which boasts more than 45,000 followers, Stine delivered a spooky story, using Twitter’s character limitation as opportunity to pen a series of cliff-hangers. The untitled short is perhaps the most high profile example of a writer using the microblogging site as a platform for interactive storytelling.
