Drunk “Bohemian Rhapsody” singer sobers up on YouTube

After finding unintentional YouTube fame, Robert Wilkinson tried to overcome one-hit wonder status with a Traveling Wilburys tune.

“I don’t get drunk. I get awesome.”

That’s the slogan and apparent life motto branded on Robert Wilkinson’s shirt in his new YouTube video.

It’s hard to argue with the results thus far. His snockered rendition of “Bohemian Rhapsody” from the back of a Canadian cop car last week was the most absurdly epic take on the Queen hit since Wayne’s World. The YouTube video has clocked more than seven million views to date.

However, his new YouTube video, uploaded by ABC News on April 1, is neither bohemian nor a rhapsody—and it’s definitely not “Bohemian Rhapsody.”

Wilkinson performs a sobering and acoustic version of the Traveling Wilburys’ “Handle with Care.” It’s open-mic fare at best—the worst kind of sophomore slump—lacking all of the ramshackle charm of his previous hit. In fact, the highlight of the video is the aforementioned T-shirt.

Someone pour this guy a drink.
