I might own a Totoro car. And have a Totoro tattoo. Yes, I am Studio Ghibli trash, and I’m proud to admit it.
Despite the fact that my home is covered in Ghibli art, I’m always on the lookout for more. It’s a hobby (or maybe more of an addiction). And in my travels, I’ve also discovered that there are lots of bootleg Studio Ghibli items, and some of them are laughably bad.
If you’re a collector like me, you might be interested to learn what items are really worth the money to add to your collection. Officially licensed items are usually my favorite, but some of the fan art out there is so good I think it’s well worth the exception. Check out some of the items I’m proudest to own!
If you’ve never hugged a Totoro, you haven’t lived. Seriously. A plush Totoro is like the fundamental building block of a good Ghibli collection. Gund makes this officially licensed one, which comes in four different sizes. I recommend the 13 inch size as the more Totoro you have to love, the better.
