Donald Trump may want to watch his language.
During the Republican presidential frontrunner’s speech at Liberty University on Monday, the Christian college’s student body turned to anonymous social media app Yik Yak to tease the boisterous businessman about everything from his foul language to his policy proposals, according to data Yik Yak shared exclusively with the Daily Dot.
One of the most controversial aspects of Trump’s speech was his cursing. Liberty University students can be “fined or reprimanded” for using swear words under the school’s student code of conduct, “The Liberty Way.” Trump broke the rule multiple times, as he spoke about “[knocking] the hell out of ISIS” and forcing Apple to build their “damn computers” in the United States.
Some of the yaks wondered whether Liberty University President Jerry Falwell Jr., who gushed over Trump’s appearance, would force the candidate to abide by the same rules as the students.
(If you’ve never used Yik Yak, the number on the right side of the card indicates its “upvotes,” which signify a post’s popularity.)
Trump also caught the ire of the students after he incorrectly stated the name of a book of the Bible—he called it “Two Corinthians” instead of “Second Corinthians,” which is its proper name—and was subsequently laughed at by the student body (and online).
Trump’s comments about the need to “protect Christianity” and his promises that he’s “very, very proud” to be a Christian—“Presbyterian, to be exact”—had some students calling his bluff, saying that his statements and actions did not exemplify the real estate mogul’s commitment to Jesus Christ.
Of course, not everyone at Liberty made fun of Trump during his speech, though considering Yik Yak only provided one example of an apparent supporter, he may need to do a bit more to win over the young Christian right.
