Get ready to start seeing video ads at the top of your timeline whenever you log in to Twitter.
The company announced a new ad product on Tuesday that will push the tweets you actually want to see down even further in the feed. Called “First View,” the product lets advertisers buy the top ad slot in Twitter timelines for 24 hours. The ad will be a promoted video from that company.
The ads will be seen across Twitter.com and the company’s mobile apps. If you don’t have autoplay video turned off, it will be doubly annoying to log in and the first thing you see is a video from an advertiser on twitter.
To turn off autoplay, follow these instructions.

It’s yet another user-unfriendly upgrade for Twitter, which, just days ago, experienced a #RIPTwitter revolution when it was reported that the company is supposedly working on algorithm-based timelines instead of showing your tweets in real-time. People took to the social network to air their frustrations about Twitter’s apparent failure to understand what its users actually want.
The new ads are rolling out “gradually” in the US and will expand to the global audience soon.
