Charlie Kirk’s youth organization Turning Point USA (TPUSA) believes it’s the conservative version of Coachella, the world-famous music and cultural festival held in Southern Califonia each year. Seriously.
“If you think the lame, snoozefest events that other boring organizations have been doing for decades have moved the needle & these haven’t… you’re crazy,” TPUSA COO Tyler Bowyer tweeted this week.
Bowyer then attached a graphic that stated Turning Point USA’s 2020 winter Student Action Summit was a “Conservative Coachella.”
The comparison from Turning Point USA sparked the frustration of Nick Fuentes and his white nationalist fans, known as the “groyper army.”
“TPUSA is liberalism with a MAGA hat on,” Fuentes, a Unite the Right attendee, tweeted in response to Bowyer.
This is the latest controversy for TPUSA in a recent string of blunders stemming from its conference in West Palm Beach, Florida, this month that featured “Bang Girls” blasting cash into the crowd.
At that same conference, Kirk made up a story about how he deleted his Twitter account. He remains on the platform.
