Miss hearing former White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer speak from a podium? Don’t worry, you’ll have another chance soon.
Spicer’s new gig post-White House will be on the speaking circuit, Politico reports. The much-satirized former Trump administration spokesman resigned from his position in July in protest of President Donald Trump’s appointment of Anthony Scaramucci as White House communications director.
Scaramucci lasted only a week and a half in the role.
Spicer has signed on with Worldwide Speakers Group, a company that books keynote speakers for various events. He will begin his paid-speaking gig in New York City on Sept. 11 at the annual conference for Rodman & Renshaw, an investment bank. The former press secretary reportedly also turned down an opportunity to appear on ABC’s Dancing With The Stars.
“We are thrilled to provide Sean for our major trade association, corporate, university and public lecture series customers around the world,” Worldwide Speakers Group told the website in a statement. “With his well-known candor and extensive experience, Sean is uniquely qualified to help audiences understand how the political environment will impact them now and in the future.”
Spicer’s tenure in the White House was rocky. His first time in front of press, Spicer lied about the size of Trump’s inauguration crowd, claiming it was bigger than the ones that came to see President Barack Obama’s historic inauguration.
After that, tensions with the press (and the president) only grew, eventually culminating in Spicer being replaced by Sarah Huckabee Sanders, who has had her own miscues with the White House press corps.
