Comedian-activist Russell Brand couldn’t help but laugh as he watched British newsman Jon Snow freak out in a Channel 4 segment after vaping potent weed. In the latest episode of The Trews, his media-tweaking YouTube series, a shirtless Brand responded with his trademark biting wit.
“If you don’t want to see anyone uncomfortable or distressed,” he advised, “don’t put an old man in an MRI machine when he’s stoned!”
Moreover, Brand said, we’re not going to reveal the true nature of marijuana—or drug use in general—with unscientific stunt journalism like Snow’s.
Snow then turned his attention to a substance that, though far more addictive and detrimental to one’s health than marijuana, is almost entirely free of regulation: sugar.
Why aren’t we cracking down on the sweet white stuff, he asked, or at least educating people about it? The answer: because so many bureaucrats are in Big Sugar’s sticky pockets.
Hey, I’m all for a War on Sugar, just not while old Valentine’s Day candy is on sale.
