News that President Donald Trump often refers to his National Security Adviser John Bolton as “Mike Bolton” emerged on Tuesday—and the internet loves it.

The detail was no more than a minor note in a New York Times report on Bolton’s confused interpretation of the president’s inconsistent position on the withdrawal of troops from Syria on Sunday, pissing off Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

“Despite being a contemporary of Mr. Trump’s, however, Mr. Bolton is not a member of his inner circle,” the article reads. “He does not have the same relationship with Mr. Trump that he had with Mr. Bush. Sometimes, with aides, the president refers to him as Mike Bolton.”

It’s not the first time the report has surfaced. In October, the president told reporters that someone named “Mike Bolton” was negotiating a possible future meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Unprepared to let a perfectly good meme go to waste, Twitter users seized upon the factoid and drew comparisons to professional singer Michael Bolton.

Others feared that forgetting his aide’s name was a troubling sign of Trump’s mental health.

Meanwhile, some users are taking time to correct anyone who refers to Bolton by his real name.

However, given the job at hand—working with officials to backwardly plan Trump’s abruptly announced decision to withdraw troops—it’s unlikely that correcting the president is what’s on Bolton’s mind.

Rockstar Michael Bolton has not yet commented on being mistaken for a small, mustachioed, conservative war hawk.
