Do you think a video of you tweeting in a conference room in Iowa would gain 4,900 views on YouTube? Probably not, unless of course you are the leader of the free world. A short video posted by the White House this week gave a behind-the-scenes peek of President Barack Obama tweeting at a recent online town hall meeting. During the video, Obama calls himself the “master tweeter.”
The video isn’t very long and just shows the President answering a few questions. However, it does show that when tweets are signed “-bo” it’s actually the President on the other side.
But do people actually care to see a behind-the-scenes video of the President tweeting? Well, not really. Considering the source, 4,900 views isn’t huge for the White House and many of the comments on the video had little, or nothing, to do with the content. Most were protests and complaints from people on the other side of the political spectrum. Some were even jabs at recent gaffes made by Obama.
“Obama, you didn’t type out those tweets. Someone else made that happen,” wrote toymation.
This isn’t the first time the White House has shown the first family using social media. The first lady’s first tweet was also captured on film.
If the first family has one “tweet tip” however, it’s keeping things short. In fact, the President’s first post on Twitter was, ironically, just 44 characters long. “That’s how I roll,” he said as he hit send.
