Talk about multi-tasking.
Apparently, there are so many people who watch Netflix “on the move” that the streaming company wants to collect data on them.
In a tweet by @BetoOnSecurity, the user showed how the Netflix Android app has already begun requesting access for “physical activity data.”
“Hey @netflix why does your Android app want physical activity data?” @BetoOnSecurity tweeted out.

A spokesperson for Netflix confirmed to Mashable that it was looking into how to give good video playback while people are physically moving.
However, it is not clear on what type of physical movement Netflix is tracking.
“We are continually testing ways to give our members a better experience. This was part of a test to see how we can improve video playback quality when a member is on the go. Only some accounts are in the test, and we don’t currently have plans to roll it out,” the spokesperson said.
The Daily Dot has reached out to Netflix for comment and clarification.
