2020 Democratic presidential hopeful Julian Castro wants to send a message directly to President Donald Trump, so he’s airing an ad during Fox & Friends on Wednesday.
Castro, who is among a wide field of Democrats hoping to take on Trump during the next presidential election, posted the 30-second ad on social media on Tuesday. The ad will appear on Fox News all day Wednesday and in the morning during Fox & Friends, a show that the president is known to frequently watch, according to the Washington Post.
In the ad, Castro highlights instances where Trump has been criticized as racist including: referring to countries as “shit holes,” telling Democratic congresswomen of color to “go back” where they came from, and calling Mexicans “rapists” during his 2016 presidential bid kickoff speech.
He also linked Trump’s rhetoric to the deadly shooting in El Paso, Texas, last week.
“Innocent people were shot down because they look different from you,” Castro says in the ad. “Because they look like me. They look like my family. Words have consequences. Ya basta [enough].”

The ad will play near Trump’s golf course in Bedminster New Jersey, on Wednesday, a campaign spokesperson told USA Today.
“The ad was purchased in Bedminster, N.J. (where the president currently is) for a few spots throughout the day starting with Fox and Friends,” the spokesperson told the newspaper.
