Harry Styles shaded Candace Owens in his latest Instagram post Wednesday and fans are applauding him for taking a stance against the conservative commentator.
The post shows Harry Styles dressed in a baby blue ruffled suit while biting a banana. His caption reads: “Bring back manly men.”
This came almost three weeks after Owens commented on Styles’ appearance on the cover of Vogue Magazine. Styles made history as the first man to independently grace Vogue’s cover, and he did so in a dress.
Owens retweeted Vogue‘s article saying, “There is no society that can survive without strong men. The East knows this. In the west, the steady feminization of our men at the same time Marxism is being taught to our children is not a coincidence.
“It is an outright attack. Bring back manly men.”
The tweet sparked controversy online, and many fans were quick to defend Styles. Wednesday’s post is Styles’ first public comment on the matter.
Judging by the comments under the post, he was met with wholehearted support.
On Twitter, though, Owens quickly commented again, tweeting a screenshot of Styles’ post with the caption, “When people try to tell me I don’t have influence, and then @Harry_Styles dedicates an entire post to my tweet. I inspire global conversation. #BringBackManlyMen.”
“Shots fired.”
Styles’ supporters were quick to roast Owens once again.
Frangell Basora replied to Owens’ with a string of replies on Twitter, “She sounds like a fan. Unfortunately, her hateful comments are inspiring violence against gender-nonconforming people and it is atrocious.”
“This isn’t something to be proud of, @RealCandaceO. It isn’t a discussion when people’s safety and lives are put at-risk.”
And of course, Owens lashed back, totally missing the mark.
“The Left is literally trying to claim the expression “Bring Back Manly Men” is an act of violence. You need your head checked, buddy. #bringbackmanlymen”
Twitter users didn’t appreciate that perspective at all.
