Trump GOP Twitter Stronger Together

The official GOP Twitter account shared a graphic on Monday night using a line from President Donald Trump‘s rally speech which mirrored Hillary Clinton‘s campaign slogan from the 2016 presidential election.

The tweet quotes the president saying “We’re only getting stronger together,” at a rally in El Paso, Texas last night, which is extremely close to Clinton’s “stronger together” slogan she used ahead of the last presidential election.

It was also the title of a book she wrote with former vice presidential candidate Sen. Tim Kaine (D-Va.).

However, it appears that the Republican party is fine with the similarities. Republican National Committee spokesperson Steve Guest told the Hill that Clinton’s loss in the 2016 election gave the GOP free reign to use the slogan.

“When you lose your campaign, you lose your monopoly on any slogans,” he said, according to the news outlet.
