Google‘s long-running trend of naming its Android OS updates after various dessert items seems to have hit a snag with the upcoming “N” release of the popular software. In fact, the situation is so dire that Google is begging the general public to come up with some decent names for the company to choose from.
At Google’s annual I/O developer conference keynote today in California, the company launched a new website to help crowdsource a collection of potential “N” names for the next version of Android. You can submit your own candidate simply by typing in your favorite name and clicking submit.
Names will ultimately be chosen by Google, so there will be no vote-manipulation nightmares to worry about down the road, though judging by some of the current options like “Navy Bean” and “Nuts & Nachos,” the situation appears to be extremely dire.
