Just when our political process starts to feel like a reality show, something arrives to remind you that no, it’s actually a game.
Making the rounds again this week is Slate’s 2013 gerrymandering puzzle game, in which players race against the clock to piece together the bizarre formations of congressional districts into the outline of states like Michigan, North Carolina, Iowa, and others [that I didn’t get to because Jesus, this is hard].
Here’s what it looks like in action (as well as a bit of a head start with Pennsylvania—you’re welcome).
Upon completion of each puzzle, you’ll be presented with facts about the state’s population density, as well as its performance in the 2012 presidential election, so study these carefully before Nov. 8.
