Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg built his own personal AI to control his home, naming it Jarvis in reference to Tony Stark’s virtual assistant in Iron Man. Now, Zuck’s digital friend might actually get the voice of Iron Man himself, Robert Downey Jr., in a hilarious turn of events that could only really happen on Facebook.
It started about a day ago, when Zuckerberg asked for a bit of community input with his Jarvis AI project.
Not surprisingly, lots of people suggested celebrities, including Robert Downey Jr. himself.
But it didn’t take long for Downey Jr. to catch wind of the chatter, and offer to actually step in to be the voice of the digital assistant. Of course, there were a couple of conditions as well.
So what are the odds that Zuckerberg actually nets Iron Man himself for the role in his personal AI program? That’s hard to say; Robert Downey Jr. seems like the kind of guy who doesn’t have a ton of free time, and recording all the voice lines for an AI assistant is undoubtedly a tedious, trying process. Still, if anyone could make it happen, it would be Zuckerberg.
