Less than a week after real estate tycoon and reality TV show host Donald Trump took to Twitter to battle it out with MSNBC host Lawrence O’Donnell, he was back again using the Internet as his bullhorn, this time on YouTube.
Trump released a video on Tuesday criticizing Daily Show host Jon Stewart for what he called a “very, very racist rant about Herman Cain.”
The “rant” to which Trump was referring Stewart’s show monologue on Monday night focusing on the claims of sexual harassment by Cain, who is currently leading the polls in the Republican presidential primary. Stewart showed a video of Cain on Fox News prior to making a joke comparing Cain’s denial of harassment to someone’s denial of kidnapping the Lindbergh baby.
“It’s not what he said but the tone of his voice, the inflection. Unbelievable,” Trump said. “When Jon Stewart does a horrible, horrible thing to the African American community they leave him alone.”
By Wednesday evening the video had more than 62,000 views. Comments had been shut off, as with most videos posted on Trump’s YouTube channel.
It’s not the first time Trump has taken to YouTube to talk about Cain. Three weeks ago Trump posted a video about a meeting he had with Cain and how he would support a businessman in the White House, although he fell short of actually giving an endorsement. It’s also not the first time Trump has day dreamed of a businessman becoming the country’s chief executive, as seen in this David Letterman interview in 1992.
