In the aftermath of a federal judge shutting down Donald Trump’s immigration ban on Friday, the White House called the decision “outrageous as the president blasted the George W. Bush appointee.
Late Saturday night, the Trump administration took another defeat at the hands of the judicial system as a federal appeals court denied its request to immediately reinstall Trump’s executive order that would ban Syrian refugees and the nationals from seven Muslim-majority countries from entering the U.S.
After federal Judge James Robart halted the immigration ban Friday, Trump went after him on Twitter.
The opinion of this so-called judge, which essentially takes law-enforcement away from our country, is ridiculous and will be overturned!

The judge opens up our country to potential terrorists and others that do not have our best interests at heart. Bad people are very happy!

Justice Department attorneys went to the U.S. Court Appeals for the Ninth Circuit to try to get Robart’s decision overturned, but late Saturday night, the Appeals Court said, “Appellants’ request for an immediate administrative stay pending full consideration of the emergency motion for a stay pending appeal is denied.”
But Trump seems convinced he’ll be proven right. Talking to reporters Saturday at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida, he said, via Reuters, “We’ll win. For the safety of the country, we’ll win.”
