Rep. Don Young (R-Alaska) gently headbutted a camera on Thursday instead of answering a question surrounding the recent vote to formalize impeachment proceedings against President Donald Trump.
Young was asked repeatedly by a person from the progressive group MoveOn about whether it was “OK for the president to pressure foreign governments to interfere in our elections,” a reference to the call Trump had with Ukraine’s president. That matter is at the center of the impeachment inquiry which was formalized on Thursday by a House of Representatives vote.
A video of Young’s odd response to the question was posted on Twitter by MoveOn. The video shows the Alaska lawmaker walking down a hallway as a person for MoveOn repeatedly asks the question.
Eventually, the group makes it to a set of elevators. As Young is asked the question again, he moves toward the camera and presses his head against it.
“There ya go,” Young says in the video, smiling before moving back toward the elevator and pressing the button several times.
