3D printers are great for hobbyists and companies building concept models, but they have several drawbacks. While you can build objects in all shapes and sizes, they are typically limited to only one color. But thanks to ink jet technology—yep, that thing your home printer uses—3D objects can be printed in any color imaginable.

XYZprinting announced on Thursday a table-top 3D printer that creates whatever object you want in full color. The Da Vinci Color, considered the “world’s first full-color 3D printer,” uses ink cartridges to inject color into filament as it’s being printed. The color goes on between 100 and 400 microns in resolution, which isn’t exactly sharp, but still fine enough to make out patterns on small objects.

As you can see, the relatively small machine can crank out a range of 3D objects, from toy animals to masks to convincing hamburgers.

Unfortunately, the Da Vinci Color does not solve home printing’s price problem. The 3D color printer is available for pre-order today for $3,000 and will cost $3,500 when it goes on sale.
