Got something you want Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) to know?
It can often be hard to get a presidential candidate to hear your voice, but Sanders is trying a new method (that surely won’t get spammed and trolled).
He’s opening his Twitter DMs.

A member of Sanders’ staff, Daniela Lapidous, announced it in a tweet, saying Sanders is “now the first top presidential candidate in history to open his DMs directly to the people.”
Some might quibble with top. Andrew Yang currently has open DMs, and Martin O’Malley had open DMs back in 2016.
But while some may consider this a stunt, it does have precedent that has allowed for action.
Earlier this year, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio (D-N.Y.) opened her DMs to ask people what they wanted to say to Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg in advance of his congressional testimony. Ocasio-Cortez said she used the messages she got to shape her inquires.
