There’s been much talk lately about Netflix pushing for 50 percent original content and how abysmal its shrinking non-original catalog is. But the streaming platform might be on to something.
According to a new study, size doesn’t matter.
By looking at Netflix’s user ratings, the site AllFlicks found that subscribers actually prefer its original efforts over its catalog of non-original films and series.
Netflix’s library of TV shows fared best out of the non-original content, but its original shows, movies, and especially its documentaries scored the best. According to the study, its original docs score an average of 4.07 stars, while original TV shows hover around 3.9.
