Lil Mama, whose real name is Niatia Jessica Kirkland, wrote that “y’all fight so hard to be respected.”

“And SOME of you, NOT ALL,” she wrote. “Get a kick out bullying people for having an option, how they dress, how their hair and or makeup looks, how much money they have, etc.”

She said there are “so many people afraid” to give their honest opinion. “Because if they do, the LGBTQ+ will hear what they want to hear and take statements out of context,” Lil Mama wrote.

She wrote that she does not have to “prove” herself by referencing her loved ones who identify as LGBTQ. “When I speak I’m not trying to hurt anyone,” she said. “I’m just speaking my truth, just like you all.”

The post comes a week after the 31-year-old television personality questioned why children and teenagers have the right to identify as transgender.

“So children are too young to smoke cigarettes, too young to drink alcohol, too young to get a drivers license, too young to go to a club, too young to gamble, too young to rent a car,” she tweeted at the time, according to Yahoo!, “but old enough to cut off their genitals and/or ‘change’ their gender?”

In response to the rapper’s Instagram Story, one individual tweeted that this is “why she’s performing at pool parties.” Another commented, “The straights want to be oppressed so bad. It’s weird.”

In response to a tweet asking what Lil Mama is “going through,” national speaker and facilitator Dana White wrote, “irrelevance.”

One person tweeted, “What rights are you worried about Heterosexual people losing? I’m lost.”

Lil Mama’s team did not immediately respond to the Daily Dot’s request for comment.
