Ahead of President Donald Trump’s inauguration on Friday, Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) has released a short video encouraging Americans to “fight back.”

“Today is going to be a tough day for millions of Americans, including myself,” Sanders said in the clip, published on his Facebook and Twitter pages. “But our response has got to be, not to throw up our hands in despair, not to give up … but to fight back as effectively and as vigorously as we can…”

The Vermont senator, who ran to be the Democratic Party’s presidential candidate, encouraged supporters to keep the political “prize” of “economic, social and racial justice” at the forefront of their minds.

“That’s who we are. That’s what we’re going to do. We are not giving up,” he said.

Mass demonstrations and public protests are already taking place across the country, with more than 60 planned in Washington D.C., as Trump was sworn in as the country’s 45th President.
