One man seemingly desperate for his porn fix is in jail in Oklahoma after apparently trying to remove filters on a stolen computer.
Officers in Owasso, Okla., knew the theft of a computer from a church last month had to be an inside job since there were no signs of a break-in, reported Tulsa radio station NewsTalk KRMG. However, they only figured Troy Ridling, who attended church services, as a suspect a few weeks later—after he allegedly tried to view porn on the machine.
He’d allegedly contacted Christian Web-filtering firm Covenant Eyes to attempt to have porn filters removed. Police tracked down Ridling after his call. He initially denied the theft—even though cops found the machine at his home—but later confessed, police said.
According to Covenant Eyes’ website, one of the company’s focuses is Internet accountability. You can pay them to monitor your browsing history and send a copy to someone you trust to counsel you about avoiding the temptations of Internet porn.
Or you can just steal a computer, and they’ll send a copy to the police for free.
