A viral Reddit video shows a man spraying cleaner at a mob of anti-maskers in Target in California. It’s part of a surprising recent trend.
The video, posted on the popular r/PublicFreakout page, has over 81,000 upvotes this week. The event took place in a Los Angeles-area Target, and the masked man is holding out a spray bottle of cleaner, fighting it out with his back to the wall of Cheez-Its.
An anti-mask Karen walks up, pointing at him, saying he’s going to get arrested for spraying cleaner.
“I will arrest you for that; that is poison,” she says. “You gonna get arrested. Don’t you get that?”
Toward the end of the 30-second video, as a security guard approaches the sprayer, another woman says, ironically, “You’re spraying us with poison.”
“It is day 4 of the New American Civil War,” joked Mzart713 on Reddit. “We have already resorted to chemical warfare. May our children forgive us.”
“Biological and chemical warfare is a lot fucking weirder than I expected,” alexja21 commented.

However, the larger picture was commented on by u/trickmind: “I think what some people are missing is that lately this isn’t ordinary anti maskers in stores. These people are deliberately organizing large groups of anti-maskers to descend on malls as a ‘protest’ and are sometimes breathing on people deliberately apparently.”
Just a week ago, anti-mask protesters went around essentially terrorizing businesses and customers, for example, at Century City Mall.
