Aziz Ansari’s follow-up to Parks & Recreation will be a comedy series for Netflix.
Details about the show, including its name and premise, are being kept under wraps. Ansari will headline the show and also serves as its co-creator alongside Parks & Recreation co-executive producer Alan Yang. Ansari and Yang will also executive produce this series alongside Parks & Recreation co-creator Michael Schur and executive producer David Miner.
Netflix has given a 10-episode order, which will be produced by Universal Television in association with 3 Arts Entertainment.
Alongside Ansari, the series will have a robust comedy cast, including H. Jon Benjamin (Bob’s Burgers, Archer), Eric Wareheim (Tim & Eric), Noel Wells (Saturday Night Live), and Lena Waithe (Dear White People). Guest stars will include Claire Danes (Homeland).
The series will be directed by James Ponsoldt (Spectacular Now).
Netflix has been busy this week, ordering multiple exclusive series including the Full House reboot and a second season for Marvel’s Daredevil.
