A video trending on Reddit’s r/Bad_Cop_No_Donut page shows an anti-masking Karen cop in Pennsylvania squirming her way out of explaining her not wearing a mask to a driver she just ticketed.

The video starts with the phone between the driver’s legs, aimed up at her talking to the police officer.

“You don’t’ have to wear a mask unless you want to,” says the Karen cop officer.

“I mean, I’d prefer you guys wore your masks,” she responds after being given her citation. “I think it’s a little crazy that you guys aren’t.”

She explains that she’s had other instances of not seeing law enforcement wearing their masks, as mandated by the state.

“Coronavirus is still happening, right?” she asks. But Karen cop isn’t going down without answering a question with a question.

“How do you know I haven’t had it?” quips the Karen cop.

“You’re still supposed to wear a mask, though,” she replies. “It’s just common courtesy.”

Wanted to get out of talking about masks altogether, the Karen cop blends in a common excuse: “Well, you don’t know if I have a medical condition,” she says, “So I’m gonna explain your citation now.”

The driver then pulls the phone up and makes sure to get the officer’s face. The officer explains to her where to go to take care of the citation and pushes the annoyed driver off on her way.

Some wished the driver would’ve pressed the issue and called the Karen cop’s bluff.

In another posting of the video, on r/PublicFreakout, u/vortex30 wrote: “If you have a medical condition so severe that you can’t wear a mask, then you shouldn’t be a police officer because obviously you’re either extremely mentally ill, or extremely physically ill, and neither situation feels congruent with good policing.”
