Michelle Blackmon, 52, was shot several times in the face on Sept. 11 by her brother Mario Stokes, who turned himself into the Milwaukee Police Department after the shooting.

Stokes, 45, is being charged with first-degree homicide and illegal possession of a firearm, per NBC News.

Stokes and his sister argued the night before and Blackmon told him he would have to “leave the next day,” according to a report released by assistant district attorney Michael Schindhelm.

Milwaukee Public Schools spokesperson Earl Arms told NBC News that the shooting occurred inside the house and that “everyone could hear it.”

He called it a “domestic situation” and said he did not know the relationship between the shooter, victim, and student.

Milwaukee Public Schools and the Milwaukee Police Department did not immediately respond to the Daily Dot’s request for comment.
